Reading Pals Book Club Grades 1-3
This year the library
will sponsor the Reading Pals Book Club for grades 1-3. The goals of the book
club are to introduce students to different types of literature and to
encourage them to find where the literature is located in the library. In
order to participate students must read 3 books from the category that is
featured each month. Forms are available in the library that state the type
of literature featured, such as poetry, fairy tales, holiday books etc., and
should be filled out and returned with a parent signature. Students must use
materials from the library rather than from home or from classroom libraries
so they can have practice in locating different types of literature. Book
club meetings will usually be held the week after slips are due. During the
meeting we will read, do activities, and have drawings for free books.
